Dear Sir/Madam,

I write to you with grave concern for our environment. I wish to object to the Development Proposal DA09/2077 of the Waste Facility at Parnell Road, Tomerong.

Many of us choose to live in the Shoalhaven because it truly is a place of beauty. In comparison to our overseas neighbours within the world our immediate environment is very clean in respect to land and water. In my opinion the proposed development is a perilous and offensive development that poses a significant threat to the environment and community of the Bay & Basin.

I am sure you are fully aware of the fact that this site has Tomerong Creek running through it which leads directly into St Georges Basin. This would then travel into the catchment for Jervis Bay. I would like to highlight the potential for damage to our environment including the pollution of waterways, air pollution, soil pollution and additional noise pollution; danger to the community from toxic releases, fire and traffic; increased heavy traffic without adequate infrastructure to support it and devaluation of properties in the area.

Although I was informed that a petition counts for one person, I felt so strongly about this issue that I wanted to tell everyone I could. This is an example of how many people I found with the same opposing views to this development within the senior young adults and teachers in less than one day.

This is the voice of your future generation saying loud and clear that we care about our environment and do not want this development to go ahead.
